James Curtis Hepburn had a variety of different haircuts during his lifetime. He became famous as a talented lexicographer, linguist, translator, physician, missionary, teacher and Bible translator. However, the American Christian missionary to Japan known for the Hepburn writing system was especially known for his unique fashion sense and his pleasant character.
